Concord New Energy Takes Part in Exercise SG Ready Table-Top Exercise in Support of Total Defence

  • Concord New Energy Group joins Quantedge Capital for a table-top exercise (TTX) to prepare for responses to crisis like power disruptions and cybersecurity threats.
  • Targeted at local and multinational financial organisations, the TTX aims to strengthen the companies’ resilience and preparedness in the face of potential power disruptions.
  • Exercise SG Ready 2025 is organised by Nexus, MINDEF, and will run from 15 to 28 Feb 2025 to encourage individuals, communities and businesses to strengthen their readiness for crises and disruptions.

Concord New Energy Group (CNE), a leading renewable energy company headquartered in Singapore and listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, took part in a table-top exercise conducted by Nexus, MINDEF, and organised and coordinated by Quantedge Capital, as part of this year’s Exercise SG Ready and in support of Total Defence. In line with the theme, Are you ready for disruptions?, participants which comprises multinational and local financial institutions discussed how to maintain business continuity even in the face of disruptions to power grids caused by cyberattacks.

As part of the TTX, Managing Director of Concord Clean Energy Research Center (an entity under Concord New Energy Group), Dr Zhang Bo, and the company’s technical support director team were present at the event as an energy subject-matter expert. Speaking to the representatives of the various financial organisations, Dr Zhang discussed the implications of power disruptions, highlighted concerns and precautions for businesses to consider when drawing emergency contingency plans and suggested possible measures to enhance business continuity during disruptions.
