Recently, Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI), one of the world’s largest index providers, unveiled CNE’s latest ESG rating result for 2024, according to which CNE’s MSCI ESG rating was elevated from “A” to “AA”, making it the only enterprise of the same industry (Utilities – renewable electricity) to obtain this rating in China’s mainland and Hong Kong.

MSCI is one of the most authoritative ESG index rating institutions around the world. Each year, it conducts ESG ratings for more than 2,800 companies, and its rating results have become key references for mainstream investors in international capital markets. Obtaining MSCI’s “AA” rating marked that CNE has led the industry in terms of sustainable development governance.

According to MSCI’s latest ESG rating report, CNE saw improvements in the fields of renewable energy opportunities, human capital development, corporate governance, and corporate behavior. Moreover, it surpassed the industry’s average levels in terms of corporate governance, renewable energy opportunities, and carbon emission reduction.

– CNE continues to provide high-quality renewable energy and professional services to society, and the group’s installed capacity and power generation scales in green energy such as wind power and photovoltaic power have constantly increased. It is promoting global carbon emission reduction and the harmonious development of humans and nature with concrete actions.

– CNE strives to maintain high-standard corporate governance. It continues to strengthen business ethics management by formulating and implementing codes of moral conduct and policies on integrity and compliance, and carry out trainings on business ethics, integrity and compliance that cover all employees of the group.

– CNE attaches great importance to the happiness and growth of its employees, fully recognizes their value and respects their personalities. It provides an equal, harmonious and agreeable working environment for its employees, and enables them to feel respected and trusted and have access to continuous support, so as to ensure mutual growth of the company and the employees.

Apart from the upgrade of its MSCI ESG rating, CNE’s ESG efforts have won high acclaims and honors from many other institutions, such as the Yicai Award for Environmental and Ecological Contribution, the Best ESG Award at the China Outstanding IR Contest, and the Environment-friendly Pioneering Enterprise Prize of CLS ESG Profound Awards. The MSCI ESG rating upgrade represented another recognition that CNE earned from an authoritative international rating institution after the significant improvement of its S&P CSA rating.
