CNE Featured in S&P Global “Sustainability Yearbook (China) 2024”

Recently, with its excellent performance in ESG, CNE was featured in S&P Global “Sustainability Yearbook (China) 2024” and received special recognitions of “Top 10% S&P Global CSA Score (China) – Electric Utilites” and “Industry Mover”.

S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA) is one of the biggest sustainability assessment systems in the world. More than 13,000 enterprises participated in the assessment in 2023, accounting for about half of the total market value around the world. Each year, S&P Global includes enterprises with the best performance in the Sustainability Yearbook. This year, a total of 129 enterprises were included in the China Version. Among them, 39 enterprises got special recognition. CNE is the only enterprise receiving special recognition in the electric utilities industry.

CNE constantly explores the field of green power generation. In 2023, the attributable power generation from wind and solar PV was up to 7,824 GWh and the installed capacity increased to 4,050 MW. As of the end of 2023, the clean power provided by the group has accumulatively reduced emissions of carbon dioxide by 55.46 million tons and saved water by 112.61 million tons, contributing to the building of a resource-saving and environment-friendly society.

Besides, CNE built a scientific and professional sustainable development management system combined with business practices. It significantly improved in terms of climate change strategy, attraction and retention of talents, information safety, and other topics compared with those in previous years and was recognized by other authoritative rating agencies. Its MSCI ESG rating was upgraded to AA. It has become the only enterprise with a rating of AA in the industry (utilities-renewable electricity sector) in China’s mainland and Hong Kong.

CNE will adhere to the green, safe, and low-carbon path, continuously benefit society, care for lives, and protect the environment, make unremitting efforts to create a better future.
